Variant-Specific Family Reunions

ConnectMyVariant is a community effort. Variant-specific family reunions help bring people together in their efforts to help prevent cancer.

When two or three people with the same variant join ConnectMyVariant, we encourage you to contact each other to get to know each other and start exploring your family trees.

When even more people with the same variant register with ConnectMyVariant, we coordinate Variant-Specific Family Reunions, or Variant Group Meetings. These online meetings are a chance for everyone with the same variant to meet and get to know each other further.

In these meetings, people:

  • Share stories about their cancer history, treatment, and prevention

  • Discuss steps for creating, growing, and connecting family trees

  • Discuss options for connecting through ancestry genetic testing

  • Explore ways to grow the variant group to connect with even more people
